    MechWarrior 3 _v1.2

You can not play UnMech3 without having MechWarrior 3.

Because we do not own rights to remake MechWarrior3

Do not have a licence to make a MechWarrior game

Not have the intent of selling UnMech3

And just want a nostalgic hobby.

We use assets of the origional MechWarrior 3 game to make UnMech3 as close as possible to the original. In essence UnMech3 is a MOD.

So you require a installation of MechWarrior 3

This can be disk/CD-Rom installation.

This can be a RIP, to not recommended.

Or it can be just a copy of the game's /ZBD Folder.

Next you need to make sure the game is updated to the official _v1.2 Patch
You can see this by just looking at the botom Right of the main menu: ^{MechWarrior 3 1.2.22.0}
If you have a version below this, you must first apply the official patch.


    Installation

There are two methods of installing UnMech3
↳ Using UnMechUpdater, a batch script that automatically downloads and installs UnMech for you. Found at unmech3.org.
↳ Manual installation, grab the latest release zip-file and extract it in the right place. Located in unmech3.org/Release.

Both methods require you to place the downloaded file unto the root directory of the MechWarrior 3 installation
E.G. C:\Microprose\MechWarrior3\
Run UnMechUpdater.bat or Extract the Zip-file into this folder.
Once completed it should have created a folder named 'UnMech3'. Here the main UnMech3 executable is located, as shown Below.

UnMechUpdater should give you the option
to automatically star the game.
But you might want to create a Shortcut.
